FINISHED CATTLE – 226
A very firm trade on all of the clean cattle. Bulls a little bit more sticky this week however.
Prices were as follows:
HEAVY STEERS: Best quality to 207.5p av. 198.5p; Standard quality to 184.5p av. 177.8p; Also Rans to 170.5p; Overall average 184.2p
HEAVY HEIFERS: Best quality to 222.5p av. 210.7p; Standard Quality to 195.5p av. 187.4p; Also Rans to 182.0p; Overall average 193.0p
MEDIUM BULLS: To 187.5p average 173.0p
BARREN COWS & OLD BULLS – 17
A good trade. Few meated cows on offer. These readily sold up to 140.5p.
Prices were as follows:
Grade 1 Cows to 140.5p av. 134.8p Grade 2 Cows to 124.5p av. 124.5p
Grade 3 Cows to 111.5p av. 108.5p Grade 4 Cows to 93.50p av. 61.8p
Overall average 98.9p
LAMBS – 2,230
Some nice lambs on offer and plenty of buyers for them but prices steady. They want them, but at a price.

Standard Lambs to 175.0p av. 164.2p
Medium Lambs to 219.0p av. 169.2p
Heavy Lambs to 211.0p av. 160.0p
Overweight Lambs to 157.0p av. 154.1p
CULL SHEEP – 751
A much stronger trade with buyers looking for number. All types of ewes would be somewhat dearer than the previous week. Good fleshed ewes at a market premium. More ewes needed next week to satisfy demand.
Ewes topped £109.00 and averaged £57.55
Rams topped £104.00 and averaged £58.86

Some good cattle on offer with all the regular buyers present. Strong cattle would be pound for pound the same as a normal day.
