FINISHED CATTLE – 332
An entry with some nice cattle in it sold to a firmer trade throughout. Clean cattle still considerably dearer than bulls but nevertheless everything just a bit brighter.
Prices were as follows:
MEDIUM STEERS: Best Quality to 217.5p av. 217.5p; Standard Quality to 186.5p av. 186.5p; Also Rans to 159.5p; Overall average 182.0p
HEAVY STEERS: Best quality to 221.5p av. 209.6p; Standard quality to 194.5p av. 187.5p; Also rans to 182.0p; Overall average 188.1p
MEDIUM HEIFERS: Best quality to 239.5p av. 227.0p; Standard quality to 197.5p av. 192.2p; Also rans to 174.5p; Overall average 184.0p

An entry that was dominated by plain cows this week.
Grade 1 Cows to 125.5p av. 123.8p Grade 2 Cows to 119.5p av. 117.2p
Grade 3 Cows to 114.5p av. 109.2p Grade 4 Cows to 99.5p av. 73.2p
Overall average 95.6p
LAMBS – 2,028
A comparable lamb trade.
Prices were as follows:-
Standard Lambs to 194.5p av. 168.9p
Medium Lambs to 210.0p av. 176.3p
Heavy Lambs to 184.0p av. 169.1p
Overweight Lambs to 172.5p av. 162.2p
CULL SHEEP – 835
Another good entry of ewes and again a good trade to match with plenty of competition for all sorts. Trade has slipped nationally but that being said the best Suffolk’s would still be £85 plus with plenty of well meated other ewes in the £70 - £80 bracket.
Ewes topped £103.50 and averaged £53.18
Rams topped £87.00 and averaged £54.91
